ICC U-19 World Cup, Scotland beat Namibia by 3 runs after thrilling encounter

In the 16th place play-off match of the ICC U-19 World Cup, Scotland defeated Namibia by 3 runs after a thrilling encounter. Could score runs, Bahadur Isa Khel was declared player of the match for playing an unbeaten innings of 76 runs.

Batting first, Scotland scored 251 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs in the 16th-place play-off match in the ICC U-19 World Cup played in Benoni on Thursday. In the innings played, skipper Owen Gold 35 and Uzair Ahmed stood out with 36 runs, for Namibia Zachio van Vooren and Peter Daniel took two wickets each while Jake Brassell and Junior Kariata dismissed one player each.


Chasing Scotland’s target of 252, Namibia were bowled out for 248 for 6 in the allotted 50 overs and suffered a three-run defeat after opening pair Jonas Wasagi and Zacho van Vooren failed.

Controlled the innings and made the match interesting by adding 115 runs in the third wicket partnership, Jonas 69 and Zacho 86 runs, captain Alexander played an innings of 32 runs, Peter Daniel remained not out with 20 runs. However, he failed to lead his team to victory.

Scottish bowler Ibrahim Faisal got 3, Qasim Khan got two and Adi Hege got one out. Scotland’s Bahadur Isa Khel was declared the player of the match for his unbeaten innings of 76 runs.
