Chairman PCB will be elected on February 6
Election Commissioner Mr. Shah Khawar has called a special meeting of the Board of Governors (BOG) for the election of the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the National Cricket Academy Lahore (NCA) at 2 pm.
What is it. The notice of the meeting has been issued as per the provisions of the Pakistan Cricket Board Constitution 2014. All board members must attend the meeting in person.
The Board of Governors includes Mustafa Ramday, Mohsin Naqvi, Sajjad Ali Khokhar, Zafarullah Jadgul, Tanveer Ahmed, Tariq Sarwar, Muhammad Ismail Qureshi, Anwar Ahmad Khan, Javed Iqbal, Osama Azhar and Secretary to the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Inter-Provincial Co-ordination, or any Another officer nominated by him as an ex-officio member is included as a non-voting member.
It should be remembered that after the resignation of former chairman Zaka Ashraf, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has been nominated as the chairman of the PCB Management Committee.
According to the PCB constitution, in the absence of the Chairman, all powers are transferred to the Chief Election Commissioner.
As Election Commissioner, Shah Khawar has been entrusted with the task of completing the election process in four weeks. If the elections go as planned on February 6, Naqvi, who has stepped down as Punjab’s caretaker chief minister, can take over as chairman within a week of the declaration of election results.
